Fireball BBQ sauce

Fireball Whiskey BBQ Sauce

A tangy sauce to have on hand to top your grilled Portobello mushrooms, flat iron steak or chicken!

Ingredients

1/2             red onion, chopped

4 cloves     garlic, minced

6 oz.           fireball whiskey

1/2 tsp      salt

1/2 tbsp.   pepper

2 cups       ketchup

4 tbsp.       tomato puree

5 tbsp.      apple cider vinegar

2 tbsp.      liquid smoke

1/2 cup     dark brown sugar

1/3 tsp      hot sauce

Directions

  1.  In a medium sauce pan combine onion, garlic and whiskey.  Simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Add remaining ingredients to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Simmer the sauce for 20 minutes.
