That’s what I’m going to focus on today. I’m going to introduce you to some RV safety products that will help make any RV safer for people with disabilities or mobility issues. Heck, some of these accessories are great for anyone!

7 Safety Products to Make Your RV More Accessible
I have a whole range of RV safety products on this list that will help make your RV accessible, big and small! You should also check out our list of 10 Best Comfort Accessories since getting comfortable in a smaller space can be a big challenge for some.
#1 Portable Vehicle Support Handle
If you tow your RV behind a vehicle, this nifty accessory is for you.
The genius of this item is in its simplicity. It looks like a broken bicycle grip, but it slips into the metal door latch to help you get in and out of your vehicle. It safely supports up to 300 pounds.
You can easily store it in the vehicle door pocket, center console, or purse.
#2 Raised Toilet Seat with Handles
Some RV toilets are so low, they’re difficult to get up and down on. This raised toilet seat gets you 5” closer to the seat, which makes a big difference for your knees.
This model is adjustable so it should work on most RV toilets, but you should double-check the measurements before you purchase. If this one doesn’t fit, there are quite a few other options available on the market.
#3 Toilet Safety Rails
If you don’t need your toilet seat raised but want some handles, this product is for you.
Several toilet safety rails are available, but this one is the most adjustable. So, it should work with most RV toilets.
You don’t need any tools to install it. You just need to twist a few knobs to secure it in place.

#4 Compact Shower Chair with Handles
This shower stool is compact enough to fit inside most RV showers (yes, those tiny showers!). It has a padded seat, detachable padded arms, and anti-slip rubber feet.
You don’t need any tools to set it up or store it. You simply slide the legs up or down and push in the anchor pins to adjust the height.
Best of all, you can attach the shower head to the leg! It also comes with a nifty mesh shower bag.
#5 Walking Cane & Stand Assist Aid
The best products for RVs are versatile products, and this one fits the bill. This Rock Steady Cane has 2 legs and 4 feet for ultimate stability. It has 8 height settings for people 5’0” to 6’3”.
It’s really nifty for getting in and out of cars and getting up from the couch, bed, or toilet. Plus, you can use it to walk around the campground.
#6 2-in-1 Walker & Transport Wheelchair
This is a great, versatile walker that folds up quite compactly. It has big rear wheels that make traversing different types of ground easier.
Like some other convertible walkers, you can sit in this one. But what’s nice about this one is that it also comes with foot rests so someone can push you around.
HOWEVER, it does come with a rather contradictory safety warning to not use this as a wheelchair. It’s more of a “transport” chair, which means you shouldn’t be trying to tackle any difficult terrain or go over any significant bumps. But, it seems like it would work fine going around a museum or store, as long as you’re careful on thresholds.
#7 Lightweight All Terrain Wheelchair
We’re going to finish this list off with the ultimate travel aid for seniors or RVers with disabilities. This foldable all-terrain wheelchair has up to a 13+ mile range, and can be driven safely across grass, gravel, bricks, and muddy, bumpy, or snowy roads!
It is only 65 pounds with the battery (which can be removed) and folds up in 3 seconds. This can fit into the trunk of a Honda Civic, so storing it in most RVs isn’t a problem.
Best of all, they offer a RISK-FREE Purchase guaranteeing your happiness and satisfaction.
BONUS: Life Lyfts by Life Essentials
Life Lyfts offers great RV step assist products, including lifts for your RV and tow vehicle. So, even steps can’t keep you from the RV Lifestyle!
The RV lift is a powered platform that attaches to the side of your entry door. The tow vehicle lift is compatible with most full-size trucks, vans, and SUVs and can use existing running boards.
If you don’t need a lift, but steep RV stairs are a challenge, you can also consider swapping out your steps. There are lots of options for RV stairs that are more stable and easier to climb than the steps your RV came with.

As a senior RVer myself, I can appreciate the importance of RV safety products for this demographic. I recently purchased a portable grab bar set that has made getting in and out of my RV so much easier. It’s amazing how these small changes can make a big difference in our quality of life.
