Complete Tour: Our New Cape Cod Motorhome

Complete Tour: Our New Cape Cod Motorhome 1

Now we have two RVs… our Montana High Country 35-foot fifth wheel… which we will use for longer RV trips and tours…

And our new addition… a 2025 Class C Cape Cod Motorhome from Embassy RV, which will get us off-grid and doing more boondocking as we travel to more out-of-the-way spots.

We've put together a full-length, detailed tour of this new addition to our new Cape Cod, and to answer some of the questions we have received since we announced our purchase of a second RV. You may have questions of your own. If so, use the comments below.

Two Most-Asked Viewer Questions

We have received numerous questions since announcing the addition of a second RV, so let us address the two most common ones.

QUESTION: Since it is a non-wood, all composite RV – seems to have a lot of advantages… like no mildew and no leaks and much lighter weight … why aren't more RV manufacturers using these much lighter components?

Cost. Composite materials cost more. Terry Minix, Embassy's Vice President, told me that if the big production line manufacturers who sell through dealers used composites, their units would cost $25,000 to $30,000 more. Embassy sells direct from the factory. There are no dealers or middlemen. That’s how they can keep these units competitive and affordable.

And that leads us to the second most asked question last week:

QUESTION : What do you do when you have a breakdown or warranty issue with no dealer?

The Cape Cod Motorhome is on the Ford Transit chassis. There is a Ford dealer in just about every town in America to handle mechanical problems. All of the accessories and appliances and equipment have their own warranties, either from their manufacturers or Embassy. Any dealer or mobile RV tech can do the repairs and work directly with Embassy.

The Key Features of the Cape Cod Motorhome

Cape Cod Motorhome

We demonstrate all these in the video.

We plan to do a lot of boondocking with the Cape Cod, thanks to the 920 amp-hours of lithium batteries. We also have a huge 3,500-volt inverter, the largest we’ve ever seen available in an RV. We can run the AC all night long without being plugged into shore power.

The Cape Cod's bathroom is very distinctive. It’s quite large, with a lighted mirror, a nice-sized sink, storage below, and a small closet that can be used for towels and linens. It is a wet bath, which means the space also doubles as a shower. And with that big 36-gallon fresh water tank and 37-gallon grey tank, those showers don't have to be quick ones.

There is no black tank on the Cape Cod. We will do a full review of the toilet we chose in a follow-up video, but it’s tucked away in the wall and hidden in a sort of toilet garage. We had an electric slide installed so we can activate a switch and move it in and out. The Embassy has several waterless toilets to choose from, but the one we had installed is the Separett Tiny Waterless Toilet. This is a compost toilet, and we'll have much more to say about it after we have some experience with it.

We ordered our Cape Cod with a 360-degree camera system. From a monitor hung high over the middle of the windshield, where a rearview mirror would typically be located, is a bright color monitor that utilizes a network of cameras to display what's around the RV in every direction.

While driving, we use the rear camera. Whenever you put on a turn signal, the screen shows side-by-side views of the rear camera and the camera in the lane or corner you are turning. At night, if you hear strange noises while camping in the woods somewhere, you can use the camera's night vision capabilities to see what is around you. This is a great security feature that we all can appreciate, but especially solo travelers.

Time to Hit the Road

We’re about to head off on a two-week maiden voyage that will see us visit a half dozen or so states. We’ll be sure to show you how it goes.

Love this rig! I’m sure the price range varies, but are you able to give a “ballpark” on what your particular Cape Cod cost?
