RV Memories Abound: More to be Made

| Updated Nov 30, 2014

And the days dwindle down.

Here it is: November is ending. It's time time to bring on December.  Where did 2014 go?

It went by in about 40,000 miles, that's where.

From Cape Cod to the Pacific Northwest, the northern Lake Superior shore in Minnesota to the Florida Keys.

We drove more than 5,000 miles, including the U.S. shoreline of all five Great Lakes.

We visited friends and family, rode in a Mardi Gras float, caught fish, got nuzzled by horses, took photos of wild animals, almost got run over by a bear, charged by a moose, and barked at by seals.

We drove and hiked up and down mountains, walked and parked on gorgeous beaches, explored waterfalls, camped in the woods, in luxury campgrounds, on Indian reservations, on the prairie, and in Walmart parking lots.

We laughed a lot. Ate a lot. Bickered not even once. Got sick on our wedding anniversary in Wyoming with massive colds. Got stranded in Montana for several days waiting for repair parts and had a great time.

And so much more.

We have just a month to go before it is a new year and we have at least three more trips planned.

Monday, Dec. 1, we leave for Louisville, Ky. where we’ll cover the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association’s annual trade show. We’ll do daily videos and podcasts through Thursday.

The week after, it is on to Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, and the Roadtrek factory, were we’ll do some final tweaks and customizations on the new CS Adventurous motorhome we’ll take possession of the next week.

That week, we’ll head to Grand Rapids, Mich. and American RV, where we will trade in the Etrek we’ve had for the past two years and drive away with that new CS Adventurous.

So the adventures will continue.

Next year there will be rallies and RV shows like the RV Supershow in Tampa, Jan 13-18, a fast trip up to the snowy Upper Peninsula of Michigan and a winter campout at Tahquamenon Falls. Then, quickly back south to the gulf coast of Mississippi and a Smoking’ on the Bayou Mardi Gras repeat of last year’s fun.

Those are just the first few weeks of 2015.

The rest of the year will be taken up by boondocking, several talks and personal appearances at RV events, a wildlife photography trip to the National Parks of the West, a family vacation in Maine and….who knows?

That’s the beauty of this small motorhome lifestyle. All of North America is home.

Like the T-Shirts and Sweatshirts say on the Roadtrekingstore.com, we have a Small House but a Big Yard.

Here’s to the last month of 2014.

What are your plans and what do you look back on that brings a smile to your face?
