Roadtreking’s New Orleans Gathering – Let the Good Times Roll!

| Updated Dec 5, 2018

NOTE: This event is sold out and has a waiting list

New Orleans was built on traditions. Join us for a Roadtrek gathering March 21-25 where we will discover some of New Orleans oldest and newest traditions – and make some of our own! History, music, art, culture, food, voodoo; the Big Easy has it all, and we’re going to do our best to see it all.

We will be camping at Bayou Segnette State Park, just a twenty-five minute drive across the Mississippi River to New Orleans. All sites will have water and electrical hook-up, and there is a dump-site, shower, bath facilities and even free laundry on site. Bayou Segnette has something for everyone – fishing, canoeing, hiking, bird-watching, and an ecosystem that shows off plants, trees and wildlife from both swamp and marshland.

History is at the heart of New Orleans, and we will get a chance to walk back in time with a guided tour of Oak Alley, one of south Louisiana’s most famous plantations. We’ll head straight from the plantation to Manchac Swamp, where we’ll take a cruise through a privately-owned wildlife refuge and get up close and personal with alligators.

We’ve also planned a guided walking tour of Lafayette Cemetery #1 and the Garden District – with plenty of time left over to explore the town, witness the live music on every street corner, and taste those famous beignets. We’ll cap the weekend off with an authentic crawfish boil at our campsite, so you can truly say you’ve had a taste of New Orleans!

Come join us in New Orleans as we kick-off our 2019 Roadtreking schedule!

When will the ‘closed FB page’ be created for those of us who are signed up. Anxious to know more details and make my travel plans. Thank you.

I am disappointed to see that the New Orleans Gathering is sold out. I have a Great Grand Son in New Orleans and see him often. You picked a great camp site,Bayou Segnette State Park, is the best in the areal

Can you tell me what camp sites you have reserved for the Gathering. I would like to find a site close to your group and share good time with other Road Trekers
