On the road: Crossing the Mighty Mac Bridge and Feeding the Bugs in the UP

| Updated Jun 14, 2018

We’re off on our summer travels.

We’ll be on the road for the next several months, criss-crossing North America.

We’re also doing our best to keep our “330 Rule” of taking our time and traveling no more than 330 miles in a day or stopping by 3:30 pm in the afternoon.

Our first trip has us heading north to eventually head west, traveling up I-75 to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula where we’ll pick up US 2 and take the northern route west to Montana and our first major destination: Glacier National Park.

But to get to the UP, we have to cross the Mackinac Bridge.

This video gives you a multi camera view of our crossing and our first adventure in the UP.

A lot of people are afraid of the five-mile bridge. We've crossed it dozens of times in our RV in all sorts of weather and all seasons. We rolled cameras for the entire crossing, as well s what we discovered outside our campsite in the UP.

Thanks to Matt Ervin for the great drone footage of the bridge!
