Homemade Kahlua – Quick Version

| Updated Jul 8, 2017

Here is a recipe that comes together easily on the stove top and is ready to drink in about 3 hours rather than the recipes that call for letting the vodka and coffee flavored syrup rest for a month prior to serving.

Ingredients:

1 quart of water

2 1/2 cups sugar

3 tablespoons instant coffee

1 tablespoon vanilla

2 1/2 cups good quality Vodka

Directions:

In a large saucepan bring water, sugar and instant coffee up to a boil over a medium high heat then simmer for 2 – 2 1/2 hours on low, stirring intermittently.

When mixture is a thick liquid put not quite a syrup take the mixture off heat and cool.  When the mixture is cool add the vanilla and good quality vodka.

Yield:  3 16 oz. ball jars of Kahlua.

Enjoy!
