Direct TV has a service called Direct TV for Travelers that lets enjoy your favorite TV entertainment wherever you go. Multiple homes require another account if you want service at both homes at the same time. Mobile accounts are not permanent fixtures and may be used part-time, so using one account is acceptable…

INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK – Camp overnight for free at wineries, farms and attractions
This week we interview Kim Greene of Harvest Hosts, a membership service that allows RVers to camp overnight for free at wineries, farms and special attractions. [spp-timestamp time=”21:27″] While there is no charge for camping, you are asked to purchase a bottle of wine or some produce or items grown on the property.
They have more than 540 beautiful places around North America are part of Harvest Hosts, located in all the lower 48 states, Canada, Alaska, and Baja California.
Kim and her husband Don had been traveling for many years in their motorhome, when in 2008, while traveling across Europe, they were introduced to France Passion, an RV visitation network that invites RV owners to visit farms and wineries and stay for 24 hours.
Upon returning to the U.S., Kim & Don had hoped to find a similar program. But discovering that no program existed, they decided to create a program themselves. So after months of research, Harvest Hosts, LLC was born!
Harvest Hosts is the first membership program of its kind in the United States to provide RV owners with free overnight stops at wineries and farms across the country.
Host vintners and farmers generously invite self-contained RV owners (motorhomes, fifth-wheels, travel trailers, truck and van campers) to visit their vineyards, farms, and orchards and to stay for 24 hours, free of charge. Most of the Hosts are small, mom-and-pop agricultural operations and are not formal campgrounds.
Kim notes that there is no obligation or requirement to buy anything from your Host. However, if they are offering something for sale that you like, your support would be most welcomed. You will get value for your money with the freshest fruits and vegetables available right from the source and delectable baked goods, cheeses and bottles of wines that you’d be unlikely to find in big stores.

TRAVELING TECH TIP:

Not to put any pressure on…but the holiday season is almost officially here and that means the annual struggle of trying to think of the best gifts for those you love.

Now if you haven’t experienced VR before, this is the one to try out.
You simply pop open the front of the device, slide in your Pixel or Pixel XL phone and close the lid. This magically triggers Google’s Daydream app to open and suddenly a world of amazing virtual experiences is at your fingertips.
And when I say fingertips, I’m serious – that’s because Daydream View comes with a remote control to help you navigate these virtual experiences.
Use the remote to select the video or game you want to queue up or even use it as a virtual bat for a baseball game, a golf club for virtual golf and a wizard in J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them virtual experience.
For those not into gaming, you can fly through the solar system, take a trip to anywhere in the world, or watch a movie on your own virtual bigscreen – it’s a really cool experience.
Daydream View costs $79.99 and currently is compatible with just the Google Pixel and Pixel XL but Google promises more devices will be supported in the coming months.
