How to camp in the cold and snow

| Updated Jun 20, 2023

We love to camp in our RV in all seasons and in all parts of North America.

Winter camping, in fact, is one of our favorite RV activities. But there's some big differences between camping in the winter compared to other seasons.

A while ago, we got a nice e-mail from a reader who asked us to put together a video explaining how to handle RV camoing in the winteer.

So… We just finished this video. In it,  we tell you what you need to know about keeping warm in your RV when the temperature outside is well below freezing, how to manage RV water and toilet use in the winter and how to drive in ice and snow – and even what it's like in blizzard white outs.

Links to the products we show in the video can be found on our gear page at https://rvlifestyle.com/gear

In just a couple weeks, we'll be with a bunch of other Roadtrekers up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, camping in what is likely to be nearly three feet of snow. Fortunately, the rangers at Tahquamenon Falls State Park plow out our camping sites for us. But we can't wait for this annual tradition. We'll have another video up after that event, showing the fun.

If you've never tried winter camping, consider giving it a try.

We think you'll like it!
