Calling the Samsung Galaxy 8 the “Smartphone of the Year” isn’t so Smart

I change phones a lot, both for posting photos and videos to the blog and our RV Lifestyle YouTube Channel and in my role as a tech reporter for NBC-TV stations around the country.

I need to be familiar with both platforms so I use an Android for half the year, an iPhone for the other half.

So now, and for most of my RV travels this summer, I’ll be using the new Samsung Galaxy 8 +, dubbed by the tech press as the “smartphone of the year.”

It has a pretty face, to be sure, wth that cool new infinity screen. But it is missing some features, has some design issues and will soon have some stiff competition.

Here’s my take on it.
