Our 3rd Annual Winter Campout, Day One

| Updated Nov 6, 2021

Here we are back at the beautiful Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Michigan's Upper Peninsula once again – our third winter campout and out most active yet.

There are about 60 of us here in 35 RVs, from across the five different states and Ontario. Some, hooked on winter camping from previous gatherings up here, came early. Others arrived Friday. Several are staying over for extra days after Sunday.

New this year was dogsledding. Here's a quick video of what that was like. That's Ari and Jessi Wortley Adler from our group on the ride.

Also new was igloo building. Here's a time lapse video of one of two that we made, a process that takes close to three hours.

And yes, there were people who were actually sleeping in them. Here's our Facebook Live report where you tour the campground and meet many of our campers.

A big part of this is our socializing around a warm campfire.

Look for another report Sunday,
